| Description | The ADXL359BCCZ-RL7 is a precision 3-axis digital MEMS accelerometer from Analog Devices, designed for applications requiring extremely low noise, low offset drift, low power consumption, and excellent long-term measurement stability. Its high-performance sensing architecture makes it particularly suitable for condition monitoring, inertial measurement, vibration analysis, robotics, industrial equipment, and precision tilt sensing. The device provides selectable full-scale acceleration measurement ranges of ±10g, ±20g, and ±40g, allowing a single sensor platform to address both precision low-acceleration measurements and applications exposed to considerably higher vibration and acceleration levels. The digital architecture provides high-resolution acceleration data for all three X, Y, and Z axes. The ADXL359BCCZ-RL7 features an exceptionally low typical noise density of approximately 80µg/√Hz across all axes. Combined with excellent temperature stability and low zero-g offset drift, this enables highly accurate measurements in environments where conventional MEMS accelerometers may experience significant noise or temperature-induced measurement errors. The sensor incorporates a high-resolution 20-bit ADC and provides digital communication through SPI and I²C interfaces. Sensitivity reaches 51,200 LSB/g in the ±10g range, with 25,600 LSB/g at ±20g and 12,800 LSB/g at ±40g, providing excellent measurement resolution across its selectable acceleration ranges. The ADXL359BCCZ-RL7 provides an adjustable measurement bandwidth of up to approximately 1kHz, allowing designers to optimize the sensor for different vibration, motion, and condition-monitoring requirements. Integrated digital filtering and configurable operating parameters simplify implementation in precision data acquisition systems. Low power consumption is another key advantage of the device, with typical operating current around 200µA. The supply voltage range of 2.25V to 3.6V enables direct integration with modern low-voltage microcontrollers, processors, FPGAs, and battery-powered embedded platforms. Standby operation further reduces power consumption when continuous measurements are not required. An integrated temperature sensor provides additional information that can be used for system monitoring and compensation. The combination of low noise, low temperature drift, and long-term stability makes the device especially useful for precision inertial and structural monitoring applications where measurement consistency is critical. The ADXL359BCCZ-RL7 supports an industrial operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, allowing reliable operation in demanding industrial, transportation, aerospace, and outdoor electronic systems. Packaged in a compact 14-terminal LGA package measuring approximately 4 × 4 mm, the ADXL359BCCZ-RL7 provides high-performance three-axis acceleration sensing while occupying minimal PCB area. The RL7 ordering option is supplied in 1000-piece tape-and-reel packaging for automated high-volume SMT production.
