| Description | The AD977ABRSZ is a high-performance 16-bit successive approximation (SAR) analog-to-digital converter developed by Analog Devices, designed for precision data acquisition and measurement applications. It features a single-channel input architecture, enabling accurate conversion of analog signals into high-resolution digital data. This ADC operates with a throughput rate of up to 200 kSPS, providing fast and reliable signal sampling suitable for real-time systems. It utilizes a serial interface (SPI-compatible), allowing easy integration with microcontrollers, DSPs, and embedded platforms. The AD977ABRSZ supports a single 5V power supply for both analog and digital sections, simplifying power design while maintaining stable operation. It includes an internal 2.5V bandgap reference as well as support for an external reference, offering flexibility in system accuracy and design optimization. Designed with a switched-capacitor SAR architecture, the device delivers excellent DC and AC performance, including low integral nonlinearity and high signal-to-noise ratio (around 85 dB), ensuring precise conversion results. It also features low power consumption of approximately 100 mW, supporting energy-efficient system designs. Packaged in a compact 28-pin SSOP surface-mount package, the AD977ABRSZ is well-suited for space-constrained PCB layouts while maintaining strong electrical performance.
