| Description | The ADXL362BCCZ is a high-performance, ultra-low-power 3-axis digital MEMS accelerometer manufactured by Analog Devices (ADI). Designed for continuous motion sensing with minimal energy consumption, the device is suitable for battery-powered embedded systems, wearable electronics and industrial monitoring applications. The ADXL362 provides 12-bit acceleration measurements along the X, Y and Z axes, with selectable full-scale measurement ranges of ±2g, ±4g and ±8g. It supports programmable output data rates from 12.5Hz to 400Hz, allowing designers to optimize measurement performance and power consumption. The accelerometer consumes approximately 1.8µA at a 100Hz output data rate and only 270nA in motion-triggered wake-up mode. Its advanced power management architecture makes it particularly suitable for always-on motion detection in compact, battery-operated devices. Integrated functions include activity and inactivity detection, programmable motion thresholds, autonomous wake-up operation and an internal temperature sensor. A 512-sample FIFO buffer reduces the frequency of host processor communication and helps improve overall system efficiency. The device communicates through a 4-wire SPI digital interface, enabling straightforward integration with microcontrollers and embedded processors. Unlike analog-output accelerometers, the ADXL362 provides digital acceleration data directly to the host system. The ADXL362BCCZ operates from a 1.6V to 3.5V supply voltage and supports an industrial operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It is housed in a compact 16-lead LGA surface-mount package measuring 3.0 × 3.25mm, with manufacturer package designation CC-16-4. Typical applications include wearable electronics, fitness trackers, wireless sensor nodes, IoT devices, asset tracking systems, industrial condition monitoring, motion-activated equipment, portable instrumentation and low-power embedded controllers.
