| Description | The ADXL327BCPZ is a compact, low-power 3-axis analog MEMS accelerometer manufactured by Analog Devices (ADI). Designed to measure acceleration along the X, Y and Z axes, the device provides continuous analog voltage outputs for motion sensing, tilt detection, vibration monitoring and embedded measurement applications. The ADXL327 features a minimum full-scale acceleration measurement range of ±2g and a typical sensitivity of 420mV/g at a 3V supply voltage. Its ratiometric outputs allow acceleration measurements to be acquired using an external microcontroller or analog-to-digital converter. The sensor provides three independent analog outputs, XOUT, YOUT and ZOUT, enabling simultaneous acceleration measurement along all three axes. The measurement bandwidth can be adjusted using external capacitors, with selectable bandwidths from 0.5Hz to 1600Hz for the X and Y axes and 0.5Hz to 550Hz for the Z axis. The ADXL327BCPZ operates from a 1.8V to 3.6V supply voltage and consumes approximately 350µA typical supply current. Its low-power architecture makes it suitable for portable electronics, battery-powered systems and continuously operating motion sensors. Unlike digital accelerometers, the ADXL327 provides analog voltage outputs rather than I2C or SPI communication. This enables direct connection to analog acquisition circuits and gives developers flexibility in selecting ADC resolution and sampling frequency. The accelerometer is supplied in a compact 16-lead LFCSP-LQ surface-mount package measuring 4 × 4 × 1.45mm, with 0.65mm terminal pitch and an exposed pad. The manufacturer package designation is CP-16-5a. It supports an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and offers 10,000g shock survivability. Typical applications include robotics, motion-controlled electronics, tilt measurement, portable devices, gaming systems, disk drive protection, image stabilization, sports electronics, health monitoring devices and embedded sensor modules.
