| Description | The SIM800L is a compact quad-band GSM/GPRS communication module developed by SIMCom for embedded wireless communication applications. It operates on GSM frequency bands 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz, enabling global connectivity for voice, SMS, and data transmission. The module operates with a supply voltage range of approximately 3.4 V to 4.4 V and supports GPRS multi-slot class 12 data transfer with speeds up to about 85.6 kbps. It communicates with host microcontrollers via a UART interface and is controlled using standard AT commands. The device integrates features such as TCP/IP protocol stack, audio interfaces for microphone and speaker, SIM card interface, and power-saving sleep modes. With its compact size of about 15.8 × 17.8 × 2.4 mm and low power consumption, the SIM800L is widely used in IoT devices, remote monitoring systems, GPS trackers, smart meters, and industrial communication equipment. |
