| Description | The LNK3696G-TL is an energy-efficient, low-power off-line switcher IC from Power Integrations, designed for applications requiring minimal component count and robust system-level protection. It integrates a 900 V power MOSFET, oscillator, ON/OFF control scheme, high-voltage switched current source, frequency jittering, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and thermal shutdown circuitry into a single monolithic IC. This integration simplifies design and reduces external component requirements. The device offers selectable current limit options and features fully integrated auto-restart functionality for short-circuit and open-loop protection. Its frequency jittering mechanism significantly reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI), and it meets high-voltage creepage requirements between the DRAIN pin and all other pins, both on the PCB and at the package level. The LNK3696G-TL operates over an input voltage range of 85 V to 265 V AC and delivers up to 8 W of output power, making it suitable for applications such as flyback converters, appliance power supplies, industrial systems, and metering devices. |
