| Description | The BQ294582DRVT is a secondary overvoltage protection IC from Texas Instruments, designed for 2-series and 3-series Li-Ion battery packs. It independently monitors each cell for overvoltage conditions, triggering a high output after a fixed delay if any cell exceeds the predefined threshold. The overvoltage protection threshold is adjustable between 3.85 V and 4.6 V, with delay options of 4 seconds or 6.5 seconds. The device ensures high-accuracy protection with a tolerance of ±10 mV. It operates with a low supply current of approximately 1 µA when all cell voltages are below the protection threshold and features minimal leakage current per cell input, less than 100 nA. Housed in a compact 6-pin WSON package (2 mm × 2 mm), the BQ294582DRVT is suitable for applications such as tablets, slates, power tools, notebook computers, and portable equipment requiring secondary protection in Li-Ion battery packs. |
