| Description | The ADUM3160BRWZ is a USB digital isolator based on iCoupler® technology, designed to provide galvanic isolation for full-speed (12 Mbps) and low-speed (1.5 Mbps) USB communication. It operates with separate supply voltages on each side ranging from 3.0V to 5.5V, enabling flexible system integration. The device provides isolation voltage up to 2500 Vrms and high common-mode transient immunity exceeding 25 kV/µs, ensuring reliable operation in noisy environments. It features automatic speed detection, upstream/downstream isolation, and supports bidirectional USB signaling with low propagation delay. Typical supply current is approximately 8–15 mA depending on data rate. The IC includes internal edge encoding/decoding and does not require external clocking. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +105°C, and the wide-body SOIC-16 package provides reinforced insulation, making it suitable for medical equipment, industrial USB interfaces, and isolated data acquisition systems. |
