| Description | Description: The SN74HC595N is an 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register with output latches designed for high-speed CMOS logic applications. It operates with a supply voltage range of 2 V to 6 V and features separate shift register and storage register clocks, allowing data to be shifted in serially and transferred to the output registers simultaneously. The device includes an output enable (OE) input for three-state control and a serial output (QH’) for cascading multiple devices. It provides eight parallel output pins capable of driving standard CMOS loads. The SN74HC595N supports clock frequencies up to approximately 25 MHz at 5 V and offers low power consumption typical of HC logic families. The device is commonly used for expanding microcontroller I/O ports, LED driving, display control, and general digital data storage applications. |
