| Description | The OPA128KM is a high-precision electrometer-grade operational amplifier developed by Texas Instruments (Burr-Brown), specifically designed for ultra-low current measurement and high-impedance signal processing applications. It utilizes advanced Difet® (dielectrically isolated FET) input technology to achieve exceptional performance in sensitive analog circuits. This amplifier features an extremely low input bias current as low as 75 fA (femtoampere), making it ideal for applications such as photodiode amplification, ion detection, and electrometer systems where leakage currents must be minimized. The OPA128KM offers low input offset voltage (typically around 140 µV) and very low drift, ensuring high accuracy and stability over temperature variations. It also provides a high open-loop gain of approximately 110 dB, supporting precise signal amplification. With a gain bandwidth product of about 1 MHz and a slew rate up to 3 V/µs, the device balances precision with moderate speed performance, suitable for low-level signal processing rather than high-speed applications. The amplifier operates with a wide supply voltage range of ±5V to ±18V and features extremely high input impedance (up to 10¹³–10¹⁵ Ω), enabling accurate measurement of very small currents and voltages. Encased in a hermetically sealed TO-99-8 metal can package, the OPA128KM provides excellent shielding, low leakage, and high reliability, especially in precision instrumentation environments. The OPA128KM is widely used in electrometers, photodetector amplifiers, mass spectrometry, chromatography systems, medical instrumentation, and scientific measurement equipment, where ultra-low input bias current and high precision are critical. |
