| Description | The FT4232HL-REEL is a highly integrated quad-channel USB to UART / multiprotocol interface IC developed by FTDI, designed for high-speed serial communication and interface bridging in embedded and industrial systems. It features four independent UART channels, allowing simultaneous communication with multiple devices over a single USB connection. The device operates as a USB 2.0 high-speed (480 Mbps) interface, providing fast data transfer between a host system and peripheral devices. It supports multiple communication modes, including UART, FIFO, bit-bang, and MPSSE (Multi-Protocol Synchronous Serial Engine), enabling emulation of protocols such as SPI, I2C, and JTAG. This makes the IC highly versatile for debugging, programming, and communication tasks.
