| Description | The TP4056 is a complete single-cell lithium-ion battery charger IC designed for portable electronic devices. It operates from a 4.0 V to 8.0 V input supply and provides a constant-current/constant-voltage charging profile optimized for lithium-ion batteries. The charging current can be programmed up to approximately 1 A using a single external resistor, allowing flexible charging configurations. The device features an internal power MOSFET and requires only a few external components, making it simple to implement compact battery-charging circuits. The TP4056 includes several integrated protection and management functions such as thermal regulation, automatic recharge, charge termination, battery temperature monitoring (optional), and status output pins for charge indication. It also features undervoltage lockout and soft-start to limit inrush current. Packaged in an SOP-8 surface-mount package, the TP4056 is widely used in power banks, portable electronics, IoT devices, and USB-powered lithium battery charging systems. |
