| Description | The TMC2130-TA is a high-performance 2-phase stepper motor driver IC developed by Analog Devices (Trinamic), designed for precise and efficient motion control in industrial and embedded applications. It integrates power MOSFETs and advanced control logic, enabling direct drive of bipolar stepper motors with minimal external components. The device operates over a wide motor supply voltage range of 4.75V to 46V and supports output currents up to approximately 1.4A RMS (2.5A peak), making it suitable for medium-power motion control systems. It features both STEP/DIR interface and SPI communication, allowing flexible control either through simple pulse signals or advanced configuration and diagnostics via a microcontroller. The TMC2130-TA includes advanced motion control technologies such as StealthChop™ for ultra-quiet operation, SpreadCycle™ for high dynamic performance, and MicroPlyer™ for 256 microstep interpolation, enabling smooth and precise motor movement. Additional intelligent features like StallGuard2™ sensorless load detection, CoolStep™ current optimization, and DcStep™ load-dependent speed control enhance efficiency, reduce power consumption, and improve system reliability. The device integrates comprehensive protection and diagnostic functions, including overtemperature, short-circuit, and undervoltage protection, ensuring robust operation in demanding environments. Housed in a compact 48-pin eTQFP surface-mount package, the TMC2130-TA is optimized for high-density PCB layouts while maintaining excellent thermal performance. The TMC2130-TA is widely used in 3D printers, CNC machines, industrial automation, robotics, medical devices, and precision motion control systems, where quiet operation, high efficiency, and accurate motor control are critical. |
