| Description | The BQ29442DRBR is a secondary overvoltage protection IC from Texas Instruments, designed for 2- to 4-series cell lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery packs. It operates with a supply voltage range between 4 V and 25 V, making it suitable for various battery configurations. The device features high-accuracy overvoltage detection with thresholds selectable among 4.30 V, 4.35 V, 4.40 V, 4.45 V, and 4.50 V per cell, with a precision of ±25 mV at temperatures between 0°C and 60°C. Upon detecting an overvoltage condition, the BQ29442DRBR initiates a delay timer determined by an external capacitor connected to the CD pin. Once the timer expires, the OUT pin transitions from low to high, signaling the overvoltage event. An optional latch function is available, holding the OUT pin high indefinitely until the CD pin is shorted to ground, providing flexibility based on application requirements. The device is housed in a compact 8-pin SON (3x3) package, suitable for surface-mount applications. |
