| Description | The CD4017BE is a CMOS decade counter and Johnson counter with ten decoded outputs, designed for sequential counting and timing applications. It operates over a wide supply voltage range of 3 V to 15 V and provides ten fully decoded output lines (Q0–Q9) that go high sequentially with each clock pulse. The device includes a clock input, clock inhibit control, and an asynchronous reset input that returns the counter to the zero state. It offers low power consumption typical of CMOS logic and can operate at clock frequencies up to several MHz depending on the supply voltage. The CD4017BE is commonly used in LED chasers, event counters, timing circuits, frequency division, and sequential control applications in digital electronics. |
