| Description | The EMB1428QSQX/NOPB is a switch matrix gate driver IC from Texas Instruments, specifically designed to facilitate active cell balancing in multi-cell lithium-ion battery management systems. Operating with a maximum stack voltage of 60 V, it provides 12 floating gate drivers capable of balancing up to seven series-connected battery cells; additional ICs can be stacked to manage more cells. The device interfaces with the EMB1499 DC/DC controller via an SPI bus, enabling charge and discharge commands as well as fault reporting. It also features a low-power sleep mode to enhance efficiency. Qualified under AEC-Q100 Grade 1, the EMB1428QSQX/NOPB is suitable for automotive applications, with an operating junction temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. |
