| Description | The HT16L21 is a highly integrated LCD controller/driver IC developed by Holtek Semiconductor, designed for driving segment-based LCD displays in embedded and consumer electronics applications. It supports a 32 segment × 4 common LCD configuration, allowing control of up to 128 display elements with efficient RAM mapping architecture. The device features an internal display RAM with mapping capability, enabling direct correspondence between memory data and LCD segments for simplified control and reduced firmware complexity. It supports multiple display modes and bias configurations to optimize contrast and viewing performance. Operating with a logic supply voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V and an LCD drive voltage up to approximately 6.0V, the HT16L21 is suitable for both low-power and standard voltage systems. The IC includes an internal oscillator and low-power design, minimizing external component requirements and making it ideal for battery-powered applications. It also supports power-saving modes to reduce energy consumption during idle operation.
