| Description | The MAX7219CNG is a serially interfaced LED display driver designed to control up to eight 7-segment displays or an 8×8 LED matrix. It operates with a supply voltage range of 4 V to 5.5 V and integrates an internal BCD decoder, multiplex scan circuitry, segment drivers, and digit drivers to simplify display control. The device communicates through a simple SPI-compatible serial interface requiring only three microcontroller pins (DIN, CLK, and LOAD). It includes programmable brightness control using an internal digital intensity register and supports scan-limit configuration for flexible display management. The MAX7219CNG provides constant-current LED driving and reduces the need for external components. It is widely used in digital clocks, panel meters, LED matrix displays, and embedded systems requiring efficient multi-digit display control. |
