| Description | The ADS1232IPWR is a high-precision 24-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC) developed by Texas Instruments, specifically optimized for bridge sensor applications such as load cells, strain gauges, and pressure sensors. It integrates a low-noise programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and precision conversion circuitry, providing a complete analog front-end solution. This device features two differential input channels and supports data rates of 10SPS and 80SPS, allowing designers to balance between noise performance and conversion speed. It delivers up to 23.5-bit effective resolution and approximately 19.2-bit noise-free resolution, ensuring highly accurate signal acquisition from low-level sensor outputs. The ADS1232IPWR operates with a single supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.3V and supports an external reference voltage up to 5V, enabling precise ratiometric measurements commonly required in sensor-based systems. Its integrated programmable gain amplifier with selectable gains (1, 2, 64, 128) allows direct interfacing with low-amplitude signals, eliminating the need for external amplification stages and simplifying circuit design. The device also provides excellent noise performance, with RMS noise as low as 17nV at 10SPS (gain = 128). The ADC incorporates simultaneous 50Hz and 60Hz noise rejection (>100dB), ensuring reliable operation in environments with power-line interference. It also includes an internal oscillator with optional external clock support, offering flexibility in system timing design.
