| Description | The HF920GS-Z is a fixed-frequency, off-line regulator from Monolithic Power Systems (MPS), designed to provide efficient power regulation in AC/DC applications requiring high reliability, such as smart meters, large appliances, and industrial controls. It features a monolithic 900V MOSFET, enabling direct AC line connection without the need for an external transistor. The operating supply voltage ranges from 10V to 24V, accommodating various input power sources. The HF920GS-Z utilizes peak-current-mode control to deliver excellent transient response and simplifies loop compensation. When output power falls below a certain threshold, the regulator enters burst mode, significantly reducing standby power consumption. It also incorporates a comprehensive suite of protection features, including under-voltage lockout (UVLO), overload protection (OLP), over-voltage protection (OVP), short-circuit protection (SCP), and over-temperature protection (OTP), ensuring robust and safe operation. The switching frequency is externally programmable with a single resistor, allowing optimization for specific applications and minimizing electromagnetic interference (EMI). The HF920GS-Z is housed in a 14-pin SOIC-11 package, suitable for surface-mount applications. |
