| Description | The EC25EFA-MINIPCIE is a high-performance LTE Category 4 Mini PCIe cellular communication module from Quectel, designed for industrial Internet of Things (IoT), machine-to-machine (M2M), transportation, remote monitoring, industrial routers, embedded gateways, and networking equipment. Utilizing the industry-standard Mini PCI Express form factor, it enables rapid integration into embedded computing platforms while providing reliable broadband cellular connectivity. The module supports LTE Cat 4 download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps. The EC25-AF regional variant is optimized for deployment in North America and supports multiple LTE, UMTS/HSPA+, and GSM/GPRS/EDGE frequency bands, ensuring seamless fallback to legacy cellular networks when LTE coverage is unavailable. This broad network compatibility makes the module suitable for industrial equipment deployed across regional carrier networks. An integrated multi-constellation GNSS receiver is available, supporting GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou (BDS), Galileo, and QZSS. The integrated positioning engine simplifies hardware development by eliminating the need for a separate GNSS receiver while providing accurate navigation, tracking, and timing capabilities for fleet management, telematics, and asset tracking applications. The EC25EFA-MINIPCIE provides extensive hardware interfaces including USB 2.0 High-Speed, UART, I²C, PCM digital audio, USIM interface, hardware reset, RF disable control, network status indication, and dedicated LTE diversity and GNSS antenna connectors. It also supports a comprehensive protocol stack including TCP/IP, UDP, PPP, FTP, FTPS, HTTP, HTTPS, MQTT, SSL/TLS, SMTP, NTP, QMI, CMUX, DFOTA, and Quectel enhanced AT commands, enabling rapid integration into industrial communication systems. Operating from a 3.0V to 3.6V supply voltage (3.3V typical), the module delivers excellent RF performance while maintaining low power consumption. The standard 51.0 × 30.0 × 4.9 mm Mini PCIe form factor allows direct installation into Mini PCIe sockets, while the industrial operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C ensures reliable operation in demanding environments. The module is fully supported under Windows, Linux, and Android, with USB networking modes including QMI, ECM, RNDIS, PPP, and USB serial interfaces depending on the operating system and firmware configuration. Its mature software ecosystem significantly reduces development time for industrial networking products and embedded IoT platforms.
