The HCNR200-500E is a high-performance high-linearity analog optocoupler manufactured by Broadcom (formerly Avago Technologies). Designed for precision analog signal isolation, this optoisolator features a high-performance AlGaAs LED and two closely matched photodiodes. Its innovative optical feedback architecture provides stable signal transfer with excellent linearity, making it suitable for industrial measurement, isolated analog interfaces, and precision electronic control systems. The Broadcom HCNR200-500E provides 5000Vrms isolation voltage for one minute according to UL 1577, 0.01% typical nonlinearity, and a wide signal bandwidth extending from DC to over 1MHz. The HCNR200 features a K3 photodiode transfer gain tolerance of ±15% and a typical gain temperature coefficient of -65ppm/°C. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C. The HCNR200 linear optocoupler uses an input photodiode to monitor and stabilize LED light output, reducing the effects of LED nonlinearity and temperature drift. A second photodiode produces an isolated output current proportional to the optical signal. This architecture enables high-accuracy analog signal transmission, low-distortion isolation, and stable closed-loop operation. Applications include 4–20mA current-loop isolation, thermocouple interfaces, transducer isolation, and isolated analog feedback circuits. The HCNR200-500E is supplied in an 8-pin 400mil widebody package with gull-wing surface-mount leads. The RoHS-compliant -500E ordering option is designed for automated SMT assembly and supplied in 750-piece tape-and-reel packaging. Its widebody construction supports electrical separation between input and output circuits. The Broadcom HCNR200-500E 5kV high-linearity analog optocoupler is suitable for industrial process control, precision instrumentation, isolated sensor interfaces, analog data acquisition, SMPS feedback and feedforward circuits, motor supply voltage monitoring, telecommunications equipment, and general-purpose analog galvanic isolation applications. |
