| Description | The MC34063AP1G is a versatile monolithic DC-DC switching regulator controller developed by onsemi for step-down (buck), step-up (boost), and voltage-inverting converter applications. It operates with an input voltage range from 3 V to 40 V and integrates key functions required for switching power supplies, including a temperature-compensated reference, comparator, oscillator with controlled duty cycle, driver, and high-current output switch. The device can handle output switch currents up to about 1.5 A and allows adjustable output voltages starting from approximately 1.25 V, depending on the external component configuration. It supports switching frequencies up to 100 kHz and includes built-in current limiting to protect the circuit during overload conditions. Because it requires only a small number of external components, the MC34063AP1G is widely used in DC-DC converters, battery-powered devices, power supply modules, and embedded power management circuits. |
