| Description | The HCPL-4506-500E is a high-performance logic-output optocoupler designed for intelligent power module (IPM) and gate drive interface applications, providing galvanic isolation of up to 3750 Vrms. It features a single-channel configuration with an open-collector, Schottky-clamped output capable of driving up to 15 mA, and operates over a supply voltage range of 4.5V to 30V . The input side consists of a GaAsP LED with forward voltage typically around 1.5V and forward current up to 25 mA . The device offers high common-mode transient immunity of at least 15 kV/µs, ensuring reliable operation in noisy high-voltage environments . It provides fast switching with propagation delays of approximately 400–550 ns and low pulse width distortion (~450 ns), enabling efficient inverter and motor control performance . The optocoupler operates over an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +100°C and includes an optional internal pull-up resistor for simplified circuit design . Packaged in SOIC-8 (gull wing), it is ideal for IGBT/MOSFET gate driving, industrial inverters, motor drives, and high-voltage isolation applications. |
