This device integrates a complete single-channel RS-232 transceiver together with galvanic isolation and an isolated DC-DC power converter, eliminating the need for separate optocouplers, transformers, or isolated power supplies. The result is a compact and highly reliable solution for industrial and communication systems. The ADM3251EARWZ-REEL provides 2.5kV RMS isolation voltage, helping protect sensitive electronics from ground loops, high-voltage transients, and electrical noise. Its isolation barrier enables safe communication between equipment operating at different ground potentials. The transceiver supports data rates up to 460kbps, making it suitable for a wide range of serial communication applications. It is fully compliant with RS-232 voltage requirements and provides reliable data transmission over standard serial interfaces. Operating from a single 5V supply, the integrated IsoPower® technology generates the isolated power required across the isolation barrier, significantly simplifying PCB layout and reducing overall system cost.
