| Description | The TCAN1042HVDR is an automotive-grade CAN/ CAN FD transceiver in an 8‑pin SOIC package, rated for operation from –55 °C to +125 °C. It supports classic CAN and CAN FD at up to 2 Mbps, with "G"-suffix variants capable of "Turbo CAN" up to 5 Mbps, delivering short and symmetrical propagation delays (~110 ns) and reliable timing even in heavily loaded networks. The device is designed for 4.5–5.5 V bus operation and features I/O-level shifting compatibility with 3.3 V or 5 V microcontrollers, plus ideal passive behavior when unpowered (bus and logic terminals high‑impedance, glitch‑free startup/shutdown). It includes robust protections: HBM ESD up to ±16 kV, IEC ESD up to ±15 kV, ±58 V (non‑H) or ±70 V (H variants) bus-fault protection, undervoltage locks on VCC/VIO, driver dominant-timeout (down to 10 kbps fallback), and thermal shutdown. The receiver supports a common-mode range of ±30 V, and the transceiver features a low-power standby mode with remote wake request. It meets ISO 11898‑2:2016, ISO 11898‑5:2007, and supports EMC standards like SAE J2962‑2/IEC 62228‑3 without common-mode chokes. Packaged in compact SOIC and VSON (3 × 3 mm) formats suitable for automated optical inspection and assembly, it’s ideal for demanding automotive and industrial environments. |
