| Description | The CYPD3175-24LQXQ is a programmable USB Type-C Power Delivery (USB-PD) controller from Infineon Technologies, originally developed by Cypress Semiconductor. Part of the EZ-PD CCG3PA family, it is designed for USB-C power adapters, mobile chargers, automotive chargers, and embedded power supply applications. The device incorporates a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0 processor with 64KB Flash memory and 8KB SRAM, providing programmable control for USB Type-C configuration, power negotiation, and power management. It supports USB Power Delivery protocols and is specifically configured for Downstream Facing Port (DFP) source applications. A key feature of the CYPD3175-24LQXQ is its direct feedback control architecture, enabling communication with compatible power conversion circuitry for USB-C adapter voltage regulation. The device includes a dedicated DFP CC bootloader with direct feedback support. Integrated protection capabilities include overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), short-circuit protection (SCP), ESD protection, and VBUS short protection, supporting reliable USB-C power system operation. The controller provides 12 programmable GPIO pins and supports I2C, SPI, and UART interfaces for system configuration and communication. Firmware development is supported through the Infineon EZ-PD software development environment. The CYPD3175-24LQXQ operates across a 3.0V to 24.5V voltage range and supports an extended industrial operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C. It is supplied in a compact 24-pin QFN surface-mount package measuring 4 × 4mm. Typical applications include USB Type-C wall chargers, USB-PD power adapters, automotive USB-C charging systems, AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies, embedded charging equipment, and programmable power management systems. |
