| Description | The D7S-A0001 is a high-sensitivity MEMS-based seismic vibration sensor developed by Omron for earthquake detection and structural monitoring applications. It operates with a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 3.6V and features a built-in 3-axis MEMS accelerometer capable of detecting seismic intensity levels based on JMA (Japan Meteorological Agency) standards. The device integrates onboard signal processing and outputs seismic intensity data via a digital I²C interface, eliminating the need for complex external signal conditioning. It provides acceleration detection in the range of approximately ±2g with high resolution and accuracy, enabling detection of low-frequency vibrations typically associated with earthquakes (0.5 Hz to 10 Hz range). The sensor includes FIFO memory, interrupt output, and low power consumption typically around 90 µA during operation. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is packaged in a compact SMD module format, making it suitable for IoT devices, building safety systems, disaster prevention equipment, and industrial monitoring systems requiring precise seismic detection. |
