| Description | The 74HC165D,653 is a high-speed CMOS 8-bit parallel-load shift register designed for efficient parallel-to-serial data conversion in digital systems. It operates over a supply voltage range of 2.0V to 6.0V and features low power consumption with typical quiescent current in the microampere range. The device supports asynchronous parallel loading via active-low load input and serial shifting controlled by a clock input, with maximum clock frequency up to approximately 25 MHz at 5V. It provides complementary serial outputs (Q7 and Q7̅) and supports output drive currents up to ±6 mA. Typical propagation delay is around 15–25 ns, with input leakage current below 1 µA.
