| Description | The WS2812C is an improved version of the WS2812 series addressable RGB LEDs, integrating a control IC and RGB LED chip into a single 5050 SMD package. It operates with a supply voltage range of approximately 3.3 V to 5.5 V and communicates via a single-wire serial interface, allowing multiple LEDs to be cascaded and individually controlled.
Each LED supports 24-bit color depth (8 bits per channel), enabling over 16 million colors with smooth brightness control. Compared to earlier WS2812B versions, the WS2812C offers lower power consumption (typically reduced current per channel), improved signal stability, and better compatibility with 3.3 V logic systems. The device includes built-in signal reshaping, reset circuitry, and constant current drivers, ensuring consistent brightness and reliable data transmission across long LED chains. It is widely used in LED strips, display panels, decorative lighting, wearables, gaming setups, and embedded systems requiring efficient and individually addressable RGB lighting. |
